Ui-jung-bu

Alright...so this begins Korea. Wesley, Jed and I spend around 24 hours traveling there and then 24 back and we had 3 full days in Korea. These pictures start day three. We seem to have somehow lost pictures of the first 2 days. I think I will cry if I cannot recover them but I'm working on that. The third day started with a subway trip to Ui-jung-bu. This is where the boys were raised. We were able to see so much in a few hours and I loved being with the guys and hearing their stories.

This was taken in front of the army base. Mom Hale used to take the boys to visit American stores on the base but over the years, the rules have gotten more strict and now, we couldn't even get in. Here is the beloved school/house. The top floor is where the Hale boys were raised and the lower levels consisted of classrooms that made up the school. This was the first NICS school!

This was the playground that the boys used to play on as kids. It is located down the road from their old house and school. They said it used to be all sand when they were kids but of course, they've paved it. Aren't they precious?
Me and hubby. I love him.
Jed and Wesley remembering stuff like crazy. I had so much fun listening to stories. These boys were awful on these streets as kids!

Had to get an infamous walking picture. I thought the streets were pretty sweet. Note how small the lanes are and we didn't see one wreck while we were there. The cab drivers are pros!
Jed's best friend Blake lived in Korea after Jed left and this was his family's house. Pretty sweet huh?

Ui-jung-bu

So we found a small patch of grass in Korea! It was very pretty..that's for sure.
We stopped to eat in the market and had Dukboki. There were Korean ladies everywhere making food. The lady who cooked for us laughed with the school girls in the picture and we gathered it was probably because we couldn't take the spiciness of the food and she kept having to give us more water. I loved this market! If we'd had more days there I would've stayed all day!
Fresh produce and meat everywhere and even men cooking our favorite...kim!
Wes and Jed on the subway. The elderly and pregnant women always get the first seats in Korea (how about that? a country that respects people) and I was even treated well (note: I'm the one sitting down)
When we returned to Seoul, Jed's mom threw a mini-honeymoon shower for Daniel. She's amazing.
Ready to eat after our adventure in Ui-jung-bu.

Korea Day 3

This is the final meal in Korea. More pictures of before this will come tomorrow. I promise but this is all I have time for right now. I'm going backwards so that it will look frontwards when I get them all posted. Love. Before the wedding and after our trip to Uijongbu we went to a meat buffet in Seoul that Jed had been raving about for forever. Seriously, he'd been talking about it since he and Blake, his good friend, had gone to Korea 4 or 5 years ago. It WAS incredible and an extremely authentic experience.
The blushing bride. This girl giggled all night long and I so loved that.
Jed's mom (mine too :) who looked so beautiful and Jed's nanny from when he was a kid. This lady helped raise him and love him and it was my first time to meet her. Another part of Jed's hidden life I was excited to have a visual for.
This sexy man is not in many pictures because he took all of the wedding pictures. I will post some of those later.

The three of us took a shuttle back to the airport the last day. These last two are pictures of Seoul. What an amazing trip!
